Jasmyn Mabalatan

Jasmyn's Photo Jasmyn Mabalatan, co-director of Danse Maghreb, is a nationally exhibited visual artist and Ethnic dance performer. Jasmyn received a BFA from the San Francisco Art Institute and an MA from JFK University. She has blended both visual and performing arts, appearing with the UCSF Symphony Orchestra, and at The Palace of Fine Arts, Stern Grove, McKenna Theater, Florence Gould Theater, Marin Veteran’s Theater, Concord Pavilion, Herbst Theater, Mountain View Theater, Cubberly Theater, Arts Center Cupertino and numerous venues throughout the Bay Area. Her research, studies and extensive training in world dance include Afro-Haitian with the late Akele, Classical Egyptian, Flamenco, Kathak with Anuradha Nag, Tarangini School of Kathak Dance, Persian, Bedouin, Turkish, Algerian, Moroccan, Balkan and Roma. Along with Danse Maghreb, Jasmyn has performed with Magaña Baptiste and the San Francisco Royal Academy of Oriental Dance, Maestra Rosa Montoya of Escuela Bailes de Flamenco and Classical Spanish Dance, LifeDance Theater and Hassania El Baddisi’s Al Mizmar.
